Anna Clifford
Anna is an interdisciplinary performance artist from Bermuda. She has a BA in Modern Ballet from The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and a BA (Hons) in International Business and Management from Bournemouth University. In 2012 she moved to New York after being accepted into the Joffrey Ballet Trainee programme. Her dance career then led her to London where she was based for a decade; performing, creating, and working a range of jobs (as you do) from box office manager, to teaching ballet to kids, to film producer… She discovered barre through a friend in 2014 and has been teaching it ever since. Movement has always been an integral part of Anna’s life and she believes in the power of the mind-body connection. You can expect Anna’s classes to be upbeat, challenging and fun. She loves creating new sequences that challenge the body and the brain and leave you feeling energized. She only relocated to Madison in the Fall of 2025, when her husband was offered a job in the UW Madison Dance department. This new chapter feels full of possibility and she’s so excited to be joining the Barre District team. She can also be found teaching yoga and sound healing across the city.
